I got these pictures from an Inspira forum: The Inspiratuners.forumer.com. The pictures below showed 2 different accident situations of which the first one was a case of a burst tire and the latter was a case of speeding on a wet road.
The first case was a case of a burst front tire of a white Proton Inspira. The car was fortunately brought under control successfully after the burst, avoiding any lost of life. Apparently, the tread got separated from the carcass and folks, this is not a common defect for a radial passenger car tire. Defects like this usually happens to retreaded truck tires, so a case that happened to an OEM tire should have been investigated thoroughly to find out the cause of the defect; which most probably was a manufacturing defect.
This kind of defect is undoubtedly serious because it can easily involve lives of the people in the car and also the lives of other road users in the vicinity of the accident. If I am the owner of the car, I would be directing my queries already to Continental on why the CC5 tyre burst on the road.
We move now to the second case. The cause of this second case was a clear disregard for safety, though some underlying causes may still be hidden. Another white Proton Inspira lost control on an unknown highway after being driven at around 180km/h on a wet road. One of the car's tire unfortunately landed on a water puddle, skidded and caused the car to crash.
Okay, no matter how good the tire would be, at 180km/h nothing can prevent aquaplaning. Lesson learned - speed need to be reduced immediately (without sudden braking) when driving on a wet road to reduce the risk of aquaplaning. The driver in this accident escaped death but he was seriously injured and the Inspira was a total lost. He might be lucky that there were Airbags, Seat Belt and the RISE structure to protect him that day, but imagine that he brought along his family that day...his wife and kids. The accident could go far more awry than this.
A reminder to all of us then to put Safety at the top of the list all the time, wherever we are!

Thanks good kerana tiada kehilangan nyawa. 180k/mj?? mmg superb laju tuhhhh..
Mr. Hairil,
Just wanna share..I;ve been featured! Have a visit to my blog oke..hehe
My goodness!!! On second thoughts why 180 km/h on common roads? I guess the guy must have attempted suicide perhaps? :-)
Mak Lagenda: Bakpe la nk bawa lelaju sangat...bahaya kan?
farahD: OK...will go and have a look
Rhymee: They guy went 180km/h on a highway. Sure good road, but in rain...anything bad can happen.
Seriously bad decision to speed like that.
Hi Bro Rizal,
I bump into your blog while blog hopping. Like you, I am a proud owner of my red-blooded Inspira. The paddle shift makes me wanna speed on Duke H/way most of the time on my way driving to work and home.
When i overtake it feels like driving a formula 1 car not that I have driven one but have played F1 on my son's playstation DSD nevertheless.
Perhaps we could swap our cars for a day coz I wonder what does it feel like to drive a manual Inspira. I read from reviews on the internet that it accelerates much faster.
saracen: Along Duke Hway eh? Perhaps we shared the same path?
Anyway, thanks for dropping by here. Do come again anytime.
I drove a 1.4 normally aspirated engine car before and driving a 1.8 MiVEC is really something different. Saracen, I don't think u want to swap with me. I am a 1.8 CVT...not a manual. Your 2.0 should be much quicker than mine :)
Rizal: Yeah we probably share the same path but different direction. Mine is from bukit Lanjan to Gombak every morning. I feel my 2.0 is only slightly quicker but at the expense of more petrol consumption. At times I have to brake hard when slowing down. How I wish Inspira has an assisted brake feature. Other than that I could not complain, but only admire.
saracen: EBA would be nice of course but at least we have EBD which is great to avoid skidding.
Hi Nice blog on Inspira. Was checking on the reviews before thinking of getting 2.0P model. One qn: as for the conti tyre burst, do we know what the speed was when it happens? any idea on the tyre pressure? Experienced once on a bus tyre non retreaded type- too fast/too hard..140km/h
SK: I didnt get the info on speed. I believe it was still below the 110kmh region. Not sure too on the tyre pressure
