A UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) was spotted over the sky of Batu Pahat, Johor lately. Can you spot the orange dot in the middle of the picture?
Yes, the orange dot moved slowly though, unlike many of the usual UFO sightings where the movements were very fast and erratic. No, No...that wasn't a star either. It moved apparently unlike a star that appeared stagnant.
Yes, I was the one who took this picture that night.
Here's a closer look of the UFO. Orange dot that drifted and climbed slowly.
So, you think that was really one of those said UFOs??
Truth is, the orange dot was one of a dozen of those Chinese lanterns lit up to celebrate the recent Chinese New Year. Sincerely, that was the first time I saw floating lanterns being used here in Malaysia to celebrate Chinese New Year. Perhaps they've being inspired by the traditions practised in Taiwan or China where releasing lanterns of this kind is not something strange.
I guess that this is also a better way of celebrating Chinese New Year rather than lighting up those firecrackers. Anyway, there's always the need to look into the hazard posed by these flying lanterns as they can cause fire easily.
5 Opinions:
cantik nye lantern nih bile byk2 ats langit tu heheh.tp kalo org dlu2 mesti ingt hantu hahahha
They're banned in Penang (at least) because they constitute a hazard to flights in and out of Bayan Lepas Airport.
