A Stolen Shoe Story - It's Not Syiqah's. It's Mine.

Went home from work one day to 'Home Sweet Home' @ PV13 and as I stood in front of the main door to open the locks, something unusual was spotted.

One of the drawers of our shoe cabinet was not fully shut. It was the drawer for Syiqah's shoes and I was pretty sure it was fully shut when I left it in the morning.

A quick inspection revealed that all of Syiqah's shoes were intact, so the suspicion of Shoe Theft was quickly dismissed.

The truth was only discovered the next morning when I was going to work. It happened that there was a shoe stolen and it was my Reebok shoe. Lucky me that the Thief can't reach my Crocs..which is a foot further inside. My guess is that the Thief did not have time to inspect each of the drawer in fear of somebody catching him/her in action that he forgot to fully close the drawer for Syiqah's shoes. Prime suspect is not the neighbours, but the Security Guards or the Cleaners. That remains as a suspicion though. No proof at all.

Point is, I lived 5 years + at AU3 Keramat in an apartment with no Security Access, no Security Guards whatsoever, but never once did I lost a shoe there and now I am living in an apartment with Guards, Access Cards, etc and I have already lost a pair of shoe.

It all then diverges into the fact that Safety and Security lies in our own hands. It depends on how we put Safety and Security first in our list of priorities. We just can't depend on anybody else but ourselves.

p/s: Will have to relocate the Shoe Cabinet or...buy a lockable one. Corrective Action.
